About Purim Spiel
About Our Show
Since 2009, the Purim Spiel has become an eagerly anticipated annual theatrical and social experience for the Melbourne Jewish Community. It is entirely organised and executed by dozens of volunteers who dedicate many hundreds of hours as cast, orchestra and crew. We encourage a culture of creativity and inclusiveness. Our original live musical comedy show puts a modern spin on traditional Yiddish humour that has audiences plutzing. All proceeds go to Emunah.
About Emunah
Emunah is one of the largest social services organisations in Israel, providing care and support for over 12000 children every day through its network of day care centres, schools, residential children’s homes, emergency crisis centres, family counselling and therapy centres. Currently, all funds are being directed to emergency trauma counselling for children and families struggling with the consequences of the horrific October 7 attack on innocent Israeli communities.
